FC Bayern Star Stanisic Out vs. Union Berlin Due to Adductor Injury
FC Bayern is aiming for the top of the Bundesliga with a strong lineup. Jamal Musiala is set to start for the second consecutive home game against Union Berlin.
However, coach Vincent Kompany had to make a last-minute change. Josip Stanisic will replace Konrad Laimer at right-back. Laimer sustained a minor injury to his left adductor, according to the club. He is expected to miss the next two international matches for the Austrian national team.
Kompany stated, "We received information this morning that we shouldn't take too much risk with Konni. That's perfectly normal at this stage of the season. Honestly, I haven't thought about the national team yet."
A win against a winless Union Berlin would see the German record champions reclaim the top spot for the first time since the opening matchday, albeit potentially only for one night. Leaders SC Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Augsburg could all overtake Bayern on Saturday.
The FC Bayern starting lineup is: Neuer - Stanisic, Upamecano, Tah, Davies - Kimmich, Pavlovic - Olise, Musiala, Díaz - Kane.
