Jamal Musiala Allegedly Earning Significantly More Than Previously Thought at Bayern Munich, According to Dietmar Hamann

Jamal Musiala, who extended his contract with Bayern Munich just last year, is reportedly earning considerably more than initially believed.

The substantial wage bill at Bayern Munich has recently drawn considerable criticism, both internally and externally. Former FCB star Dietmar Hamann has now weighed in on this issue, criticizing the salary development at the Säbener Straße in his new book, ‘Der Spielverderber — 45 ungeschminkte Wahrheiten von Deutschlands ehrlichstem Fußballexperten’ (The Spoilsport — 45 Unvarnished Truths from Germany’s Most Honest Football Expert).

‘Sometimes I get the impression that at Real, Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool, and City, the club makes the decisions, while at FC Bayern, the agents decide. Or someone else,’ says Hamann, who views Bayern as a pawn with no decision-making power, citing examples like Dayot Upamecano and Leroy Sané.

‘Bayern wanted to extend with Leroy Sané and gave him until August. But he preferred to go to the Turkish league. It was the player who made the decision.’

Hamann Discloses Musiala’s Alleged Salary

Hamann, however, sees the situation with Jamal Musiala as significantly more problematic, as the player is apparently earning much more than previously assumed.

‘The most striking evidence is Jamal Musiala. His contract, as far as I know, is not for the reported €25 million, but for up to €30 million per year, plus agent fees,’ he writes. ‘I consider that far too much for a 22-year-old.’
