Pirlo: I’m not happy with my work

Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo spoke to Sky Sports microphones after his team’s 1-1 draw against Fiorentina.

On his future

“Initial expectations were different, both for me and for the team. I do not think I have done the job as I wanted and how everyone wanted.”

“Every game you learn and try to improve, but I’m not happy and I don’t think the society is happy either.”

The team’s attitude

“Unfortunately, many times it has happened that we have to straighten badly approached matches.”

“Today we just couldn’t have a second half equal to the first. The second half went better, we changed the way we played and something showed, with Morata giving us more depth.”

“We reacted well but it wasn’t enough to win. Now we are preparing for the match in Udine.”

“We had a very bad first half, I didn’t expect it: we didn’t face it as we should, we didn’t live up to what we could put on the pitch.”

“Yesterday after Danilo’s injury we tried a system with Ramsey and Dybala between the lines, and more width with the two outside players.”

“We tried but it didn’t work out: we probably didn’t understand the importance of the game well, both we and them were playing for important points and we would have had to face it with totally different stimuli.”
