Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo spoke to Rai Sports after his team’s victory against Atalanta, in the Italian Cup final.
“We had the desire to win, to take this trophy home. We regrouped, we got it into our heads that we wanted to win this cup, we deserved it.”
“I had many, otherwise we wouldn’t be here talking about a fifth place and probably missing out on the Champions League. The victories do not cancel the ups and downs of the season, but as a first season as a manager I learned a lot. You can’t get 100% positive results, but you have these evenings that reward you.”
Would you stay at Juve?
“Of course I would. I have loved football since I was a child, I love this club, I want to continue, then the management will decide.”
On being a coach
“It’s more difficult because you don’t have the ball between your feet. From the outside they don’t see what you can see.”
What positions to improve for next season?
“It seems premature to me to talk about next season. We have a game to play on Sunday.”
“It’s the beauty of football. We wanted to take him off, then he managed to score. He wasn’t at his best, but he fought. Scoring in a final is not easy, congratulations to him ».
Do you feel sorry for being criticized?
“First of all I don’t read the newspapers, because I rely on what I do during the week and on the pitch. I am aware of what may be away from the pitch, and I do not regret what they write.”
Problems with the players?
“I have never had problems with the boys. All what’s been said is just rumors.”
