Michael Olise: Bayern Munich Star Crowned Best French Player Abroad

Michael Olise, the attacking star for Bayern Munich, has received a special accolade, being named the best French footballer playing abroad at an event in Paris.

Olise was recognized by the French Footballers’ Union (UNFP), surpassing formidable competition that included superstar Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) and former Eintracht player Hugo Ekitiké (Liverpool). This award highlights his exceptional performances in the past season.

Olise has had an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, contributing significantly to their early German championship title with 15 goals and 22 assists in the Bundesliga alone. His impact on the team’s success has been undeniable.

«My goal this season was to win everything with France and with FC Bayern. That’s everything,» said Olise, who attended the ceremony in a black suit. He expressed his excitement for the upcoming World Cup, stating his commitment to «give everything to win with France.»

The French national team is considered among the top favorites for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada (June 11 — July 19). Olise’s inclusion and form will be crucial for their aspirations.

Before the international tournament, Olise has two significant matches with FC Bayern: the Bundesliga finale against 1. FC Köln on Saturday (3:30 PM/Sky) and the DFB-Pokal final on May 23rd at the Olympiastadion in Berlin against VfB Stuttgart.
