Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal Taunts Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham After Clasico Win

Lamine Yamal couldn’t resist a jab at Jude Bellingham during Barcelona’s Clasico victory over Real Madrid.

Even before the end of Barcelona’s 2-0 win against their arch-rivals on Sunday evening, the currently injured Yamal posted a video of the scoreboard on Instagram. The 18-year-old added the telling caption: ‘Talk is cheap’.

Why was Yamal likely addressing Bellingham? Real Madrid’s midfield star had previously used the same phrase to caption a celebratory photo on Instagram after Los Blancos’ 2-1 victory over Barcelona in October. Yamal has now retaliated with satisfaction.

The Englishman’s post at the time was indirectly aimed at Barcelona’s Spanish attacking superstar. This is because, before the first of three Clasicos this season, it was Yamal who had provoked the Madrid club with a photo of himself in front of jeering Real fans.

FC Barcelona Becomes Spanish Champion After Victory Over Real Madrid

This made the defeat even more bitter for Real and sweeter for Yamal. With the home victory over Real in the return leg, Barcelona secured their second consecutive Spanish league title. With a 14-point lead over their capital city rivals, the Catalans are now uncatchable at the top of LaLiga.

Marcus Rashford had put Barcelona ahead in the 9th minute at Camp Nou with a spectacular free-kick goal. After just under 20 minutes, Ferran Torres doubled the lead, and the score remained 2-0 until the end.

Yamal watched the match from the stands, having been sidelined with a muscle injury since late April. He will not be available for the newly crowned Spanish champions in the remaining league games. However, his participation in the upcoming World Cup is reportedly not in danger.
