Julian Nagelsmann Confirms Surprise DFB Team Test Match on Monday

Before departing for the World Cup, the German national team will play another short test match against Finland. This was revealed by head coach Julian Nagelsmann following their comfortably won 4-0 (1-0) match, which served as the second-to-last official test before the tournament opener against the Finns.

Nagelsmann stated that the match on Monday will not be played over 90 minutes, but rather in «two halves of 20, two halves of 25.» He explained that the game is «for those who didn’t play today or played less, to simply give them match rhythm again.»

He expressed his gratitude, saying, «I am very happy that the Finns have agreed to this. It will take place with a few fans who won it, DFB staff. This will be the next task for us.»

Germany to Test Against USA Before World Cup Start

In the afternoon, there will be «a small event to also be able to mentally cool down in stressful phases,» said the head coach.

On Tuesday, the team will travel from Frankfurt towards the USA. In Chicago, on June 6th, they will face the co-hosts of the World Cup in their final test match. On Sunday in Mainz, the goals were scored by Deniz Undav (34th, 57th), Florian Wirtz (48th), and Jamal Musiala (63rd).
