FC Bayern Munich will have to do without Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof in their home Allianz Arena for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid today (April 15, 9 PM).

As the record German champions announced on Friday lunchtime, Karl suffered a muscle fiber tear in his right posterior thigh. This diagnosis was made after an examination by the medical department. The Munich club did not provide details on the exact recovery time. However, it is certain that the 18-year-old will not be available ‘for the time being’. On matchday itself, Bayern then also announced Bischof’s absence, who suffered a ‘small muscle fiber tear in his calf’.
Karl himself commented on Instagram, writing: ‘Hope to be back soon. I wish the team maximum success.’
His agent, Michael Ballack, explained on DAZN that Karl is expected to be out for around three weeks. He spoke of a typical muscle injury but emphasized that the exact duration is always difficult to predict, as the healing process varies individually and also depends on how the injury occurred. Therefore, an exact prognosis is not possible, only a rough estimate.
In addition to Karl and Bischof, Sven Ulreich is also missing against Real. Serge Gnabry, who was absent against St. Pauli due to knee problems, is fit again.
