FC Bayern Faces UEFA Probe After Real Madrid Match Celebrations

The recent Champions League clash between FC Bayern München and Real Madrid has led to potential disciplinary action for the German club from UEFA. Some supporters stormed the pitch in the Allianz Arena following Michael Olise’s late winning goal, creating a chaotic scene near the advertising boards.

UEFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the German champions, citing four specific charges related to the match. Following Bayern’s dramatic 4-3 victory in the quarter-final second leg, fans rushed towards the advertising hoardings in front of the Südkurve to celebrate with the players. In their excitement, they inadvertently knocked over several photographers positioned there, with reports indicating that two media representatives sustained injuries. The fan organization «Club Nr. 12» subsequently issued an apology for the incidents.

UEFA’s Charges Against FC Bayern München

The European football governing body has charged FC Bayern with «crowd disturbances,» alongside «obstruction of public passageways,» «throwing of objects,» and «transmitting an inappropriate message for a sporting event (anti-UEFA banner).»

The Südkurve has previously been in the spotlight during the competition. Following repeated instances of pyrotechnics use, UEFA had partially closed it. For organizational reasons, Bayern decided to leave the seats in that section completely empty during their home match against Union Saint-Gilloise in January. Now, further controversy has arisen.
