Dicke Transferüberraschung beim FC Bayern! Manchester City will offenbar Streichkandidat des FCB holen

Alexander Nübel’s future appears uncertain at both VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern. Now, two top clubs are reportedly expressing interest in the German international goalkeeper.

According to Sport Bild, Juventus Turin and Manchester City have approached the record German champions regarding Nübel and are already in contact with the 29-year-old goalkeeper’s management.

The Bavarians are reportedly asking for a transfer fee between ten and fifteen million euros for Nübel. This, among other reasons, led VfB Stuttgart to refrain from a permanent signing of the keeper, who has been on loan for three years, even though coach Sebastian Hoeneß, according to Sport Bild, would have very much liked to continue working with Nübel and had communicated this to the sporting management.

However, Nübel’s salary was ultimately the decisive factor in him playing his 129th and final game for VfB in the DFB-Pokal final against his actual employer last Saturday. On one hand, Nübel was not willing to make significant salary reductions, and on the other hand, the record German champions reportedly covered the lion’s share of his rumored eleven million euros annually, with seven million covered within the loan deal.

At VfB, Dennis Seimen is expected to be given the opportunity to establish himself as the new number one for the coming years in a challenging 2026/27 season, which will also include participation in the Champions League. Seimen was loaned to SC Paderborn last season and was a key player for the East Westphalians with strong performances on their path to the third promotion to the Bundesliga in the club’s history.

Seimen joined VfB from the youth academy of Karlsruher SC, went through all the youth teams there since U17, and is now returning to the Swabians as the new first-choice goalkeeper. Nübel, meanwhile, was informed some time ago during a ‘secret meeting’ with Munich’s goalkeeping coach Michael Rechner that he would ‘play absolutely no role’ in the record champions’ future plans.

FC Bayern: Swap deal with Newcastle United for Nübel and Anthony Gordon?

He was strongly advised to look for a new club. There has not yet been a personal conversation with Sporting Director Max Eberl or Sports Director Christoph Freund.

As early as last week, ran.de reported that Nübel would not be playing for VfB or Munich next season and that three unnamed top clubs were vying for the national goalkeeper’s services. It was said that Bayern were particularly hoping for offers from the lucrative Premier League to negotiate a win-win situation for both player and club.

On the one hand, Nübel would likely not have to make salary concessions, and on the other hand, FC Bayern would very likely receive their desired transfer fee for the keeper, who was signed on a free transfer from FC Schalke 04 in 2020. Most recently, Bild even speculated that Nübel could be used as a bargaining chip in the transfer of Anthony Gordon.

According to consistent media reports, Newcastle United wants to reconfigure their goalkeeping position and, according to Sky, has already reached out to Robin Risser of RC Lens. However, the French sensational cup winners are reportedly demanding 30 to 40 million euros. Nübel, on the other hand, could be factored into Gordon’s transfer for a reduced fee.

The Magpies are reportedly demanding up to 80 million euros for the Bayern-desired player. Gordon has been linked with a move to Munich for many weeks, as he would significantly elevate the squad’s quality, both as a backup for Harry Kane and as a challenger on the left wing for Luis Diaz. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona is now reportedly in pole position for the English international.

In Newcastle, Aaron Ramsdale and Nick Pope vied for the number one spot throughout the season. There was never clarity; Ramsdale played 23 games in the end, and Pope made 36 appearances. Nübel would therefore have a decent chance of securing a starting spot there.

Manchester City would not be a good option for Nübel — Juventus, however, very well might be

His prospects appear considerably worse at Manchester City. Gianluigi Donnarumma is the established starter there, and in James Trafford, they already have a backup for whom the Sky Blues paid 31 million euros just last summer. However, transfer rumors surrounding Trafford are increasing, so at least the challenger role could become available for Nübel. The only question is whether he would be willing to accept such a situation again, as he did with Manuel Neuer at Bayern.

Perhaps a move to Juventus would be a more promising option for Nübel. There is also uncertainty there regarding the goalkeeping situation after the season. Michele Di Gregorio was the primary goalkeeper for much of the past season but apparently did not convince overwhelmingly and was therefore benched multiple times in favor of substitute Mattia Perin.

Italian media reports also fuel the rumors that the goalkeeper carousel could continue to turn at Juve. Football Italia, for instance, reports that Juve has already put a price tag on Di Gregorio. He can leave the Old Lady for 15 million euros, it is said.
