Borussia Dortmund is actively pursuing a striker, and not just due to the arrival of a new sporting director. Here’s the latest news and rumors surrounding Borussia Dortmund.
BVB Rumor: Hoffenheim’s Fisnik Asllani is Dortmund’s «hottest star on the list»
Fisnik Asllani of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is reportedly Borussia Dortmund’s top candidate for a summer transfer. According to Bild newspaper, the 23-year-old is considered «the hottest star on the list» for BVB. Previously, Dortmund’s stance was that no additional striker was needed, as they already had Serhou Guirassy and Fabio Silva in their squad.
The report indicates that a prerequisite for signing Asllani would be the departure of Guirassy, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia after a less impressive season. Such a transfer could bring significant funds to BVB, which could then be invested in Asllani, whose market value is €30 million.
Dortmund’s new sporting director, Ole Book, who previously worked with Asllani at second-division club SV Elversberg, is considered a trump card in the pursuit of Asllani, who is also reportedly attracting strong interest from FC Barcelona.
The attacker himself addressed the transfer rumors this week in an interview with Sky, stating: «I can’t influence what people say. I can only influence what happens on the pitch. In the end, it’s also a good sign that people are talking. Because that means I’m performing well.»
This season, Asllani has scored ten goals and provided nine assists in 30 competitive matches for TSG.
BVB Rumor: Six Borussia Competitors for 17-Year-Old
Borussia Dortmund is reportedly interested in Ilian Hadidi from Standard Liège, according to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure. However, BVB is not the only club pursuing the midfielder. Club Brugge, Feyenoord Rotterdam, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, OSC Lille, and AS Monaco are also said to be in contention for the 17-year-old.
Hadidi is currently the captain of Liège’s U18 team and Morocco’s U17 national team. His contract is set to expire after the season, making him available on a free transfer. However, according to the report, Standard is still doing everything they can to convince him to extend his contract with the Belgian club.
