A top young talent at FC Bayern Munich has reportedly committed an extremely unusual blunder.
According to a report from Sport Bild, youngster Wisdom Mike allegedly fell asleep during a morning team meeting with coach Vincent Kompany. The incident is said to have occurred last summer.
The 17-year-old had apparently been out in Munich the previous evening with another player, who has since been loaned out, and only returned to the campus late at night. Mike is reported to have faced the accusations and did not deny them.
Nevertheless, Kompany dealt with the attacker relatively leniently. The Belgian avoided publicly scolding Mike in front of the entire team and instead opted for a private conversation to resolve the matter.
According to Sport Bild, Bayern sanctioned the 17-year-old at the time with a week-long ban from his room at the campus. During this period, Mike had to finance a hotel stay and sleep there out of his own pocket. The youngster’s father was also called in for a discussion. Overall, however, the issue has been clarified, and the player is considered to have been rehabilitated.
Mike Made Four Professional Appearances for FC Bayern in the 2025/26 Season
The German record champions primarily feature Mike in the U19 team for now. In a total of eleven league games, he contributed three goals and three assists there. Additionally, he made one appearance for the second team in the fourth-tier Regionalliga (scoring one goal).
His playing time with the first team has so far been limited to short appearances for the 17-year-old. Before his hip injury, which is currently sidelining him, Kompany used him in four Bundesliga matches. However, he is still awaiting his first goal for the first team.
