While Germany's senior squad intensifies its preparations for the upcoming World Cup, U21 talent Tom Bischof remains fully focused on his team's European Championship qualifiers, yet hasn't entirely dismissed the possibility of a surprise call-up to the main event.

The captain of the German U21 national team, Tom Bischof, candidly shared his unwavering ambition for a summer World Cup appearance. "I am open to the opportunity and would be absolutely thrilled to be part of the squad. This is what I am continuously striving for," he declared ahead of a pivotal EM qualification match set to take place in Greece on Tuesday. He further emphasized his commitment, stating, "Delivering consistent high-level performances at Bayern Munich significantly improves your chances. That's precisely why I haven't made any vacation arrangements yet."

Bischof's single cap for Julian Nagelsmann's senior national side occurred during a 0-2 Nations League defeat against France in June 2025. When questioned about his recent interactions with the national coach, the 20-year-old maintained discretion: "I have certainly spoken with the national coach recently, but the details of those conversations remain private."

Looking ahead, Bischof expressed immense excitement for the contest in Athens. "It promises to be an incredible game played in a fantastic stadium.
