Manchester City finds itself struggling in the league and already out of the Champions League. However, coach Pep Guardiola has a clear understanding of what is needed for the team to improve.

The Manchester City manager revealed he knows precisely what his squad requires to return to peak performance and has already communicated this vision to his players.

When questioned about any potentially missing pieces for the Cityzens before the League Cup final against Arsenal, Guardiola confidently stated: "I know it, the players know it. But I won't tell you."

Subsequently, City secured their first title of the season at Wembley Stadium. Thanks to a brace from Nico O'Reilly, Guardiola's team lifted the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 victory.

Manchester City Eliminated from Champions League by Real Madrid

In the Premier League, the Cityzens' campaign is also not going as planned this season. After Liverpool comfortably won the title last year, Arsenal currently appears poised for a triumph. The Gunners lead the table with a nine-point advantage over City, although Guardiola's side has played one less game than Sunday's cup final opponents.

Manchester City was knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 by Real Madrid. Real established a decisive lead with three goals from Federico Valverde in the first leg at home, which they comfortably defended in the second leg. In the second leg, where Real won 2-1 away, Manchester's Bernardo Silva received an early red card for a handball on the goal line, effectively ending any hopes for Guardiola's side.

Man City Active Primarily in Winter Transfer Window

City has primarily strengthened its squad during the winter transfer windows in both the current and previous seasons. This ongoing season, the club reportedly spent 72 million Euros on Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth and also acquired Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for 23 million Euros.

While these investments did not bring the desired short-term success in the Champions League, Guardiola has now made it clear that he knows exactly how to advance his team. The 55-year-old will enter his final year with the Cityzens this summer, having managed them since 2016.
