Joshua Zirkzee reportedly agrees to join Juventus, a significant financial win for Bayern Munich

Joshua Zirkzee is looking to leave Manchester United during the current transfer window, with the Dutch forward reportedly keen on a return to Serie A.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee has given the green light for a move to Juventus Turin. He aims to return to the league where he broke through with FC Bologna in 2022.

Juve is also open to signing him, but a transfer might only be possible under specific financial conditions. The Old Lady reportedly favors a loan deal with a non-mandatory purchase option, similar to how Manchester United handled Marcus Rashford's loan to FC Barcelona last season.

If the Zirkzee package proves too costly for the financially struggling Italians, Juventus is also considering alternatives. Two Chelsea strikers, Emanuel Emegha and Liam Delap, have been mentioned.

Meanwhile, Zirkzee appears to have no future at Manchester United. Under manager Michael Carrick, the Dutchman often played a substitute role last season, scoring just two goals and providing one assist in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Joshua Zirkzee was already a transfer candidate in the winter transfer window

Zirkzee only moved to Manchester from Italian top-flight club Bologna in the summer of 2024. United paid over 40 million euros for the former FC Bayern Munich youth player at the time, a transfer that brought 20 million euros into the coffers of the German record champions due to a substantial sell-on clause. Previously, Bayern had already collected 8.5 million euros for Zirkzee when he moved to Bologna. Expectations for the attacking player in Manchester were accordingly high, but he could not establish himself at Old Trafford long-term.

According to The Sun, Zirkzee was already considering a move in the winter transfer window to get more playing time. However, a potential departure did not materialize because the club's management halted the relevant discussions. Juventus Turin was reportedly already involved at that time.
