Although Ollie Watkins has only played six minutes at the World Cup so far, Fenerbahce might be preparing a €70 million package for the Aston Villa striker.

Fenerbahce is pushing forward with its squad planning for the new season and, according to Sabah Spor, has now set its sights on England's World Cup attendee, Ollie Watkins, from Aston Villa. However, for the Turkish top-flight club to secure the 27-year-old striker, they would need to dig deep into their pockets.

According to the report, Watkins' current employer would only be willing to negotiate from an offer exceeding 40 million Euros, as his current contract runs until 2028. On top of the transfer fee, there would also be salary costs of approximately 30 million Euros for a three-year deal.

Watkins is currently with the England squad at the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, where they will face France in the third-place playoff on Saturday evening. So far, the attacking player has accumulated a mere six minutes of playing time in the tournament, which he earned during the 2-0 group stage match against Panama.

Fenerbahce Reinforces: Will Watkins Follow Greenwood?

With Aston Villa, Watkins won the Europa League last season after a 3-0 victory in the final against SC Freiburg. In 55 competitive matches for the Birmingham club, he contributed 21 goals and five assists.

For Fenerbahce, Watkins would be their second English signing this summer, following Mason Greenwood, who arrived from Marseille for 39 million Euros. Additionally, Fener has already finalized the transfers of Sidiki Cherif, Vedat Muriqi, and Nathan Ake.
