FC Bayern Dismisses Michael Olise and Luis Diaz Transfer Speculation
FC Bayern's CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, has firmly shut down any possibility of winger Michael Olise transferring to Real Madrid.
When asked about the extent of contact from Madrid this summer, Dreesen responded with a smile, "Zero," clarifying that there had been no calls, letters, faxes, or emails. He expressed amusement at the widespread rumors, stating, "It's amazing what can be spread when you know what the truth is."
Dreesen further commented on the Olise speculation, noting how often he's been asked by friends if the 24-year-old might leave Bayern for Spain. He added, "Not a single one said, 'at 200 million, you have to sell him.'"
Real Madrid Already Denied Contact with Olise
Speculation about Olise's move to Real Madrid had been intensifying. Prior to the World Cup, the Spanish club had officially stated that there had been "no direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned footballer, his representatives, or anyone around him." Instead, Real Madrid emphasized their "excellent relationship" with FC Bayern.
Beyond a disappointing semi-final performance against Spain (0-2), Olise had significantly raised his profile at the World Cup. Alongside France's captain Kylian Mbappé, he was a standout player for Les Bleus. His contract with the German record champions runs until 2029.
Dreesen also confirmed that a sale of Luis Diaz, who has recently been linked with Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia, is out of the question. Responding to an inquiry about a potential transfer, Dreesen stated, "We would be foolish, wouldn't we?"
