Tunisia's national football team coach, Herve Renard, has resigned from his post following the team's elimination from the World Cup group stage.

The 54-year-old Frenchman announced his departure on Instagram, stating, "My journey has come to an end." This announcement comes just two and a half weeks after he took over the role for the North African team's second group match at the World Cup.

Renard had replaced Sabri Lamouchi, who was dismissed after Tunisia's significant opening defeat. However, Renard was unable to reverse the team's negative trajectory, overseeing further group stage losses in their subsequent matches.

Tunisia's Disappointing World Cup Exit

Renard had previously acknowledged the challenging task ahead with Tunisia, admitting he was "no magician." His assessment proved accurate as Tunisia was eliminated from Group F without any points, scoring only two goals and conceding twelve.

In his farewell message, Renard deemed the World Cup participation a considerable success and expressed confidence that the national team would "write glorious chapters in its history."

Prior to his tenure with Tunisia, Renard was dismissed as the national coach of Saudi Arabia in April.
