Alexander Zverev Appears on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" 18 Hours After Grand Slam Win
Alexander Zverev, fresh from his US Open victory, appeared on the popular quiz show "Wer wird Millionär?" (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?). The show featured a celebrity special, including Zverev's girlfriend Sophia Thomalla.
Host Günther Jauch noted he had coincidentally watched Zverev's final match with Thomalla at the airport. Jauch described the final as "truly one of the greatest and best wins I've seen" before Zverev joined via video link.
Jauch asked Zverev if he had slept after his win. Zverev, with a wink, confirmed he hadn't slept, despite the victory occurring the previous night in America. He explained that numerous press engagements followed his win, including appearances on "Good Morning America" and with sports manufacturer adidas.
This US Open title marks Zverev's second Grand Slam win, following his French Open victory in June. His schedule remains packed, with Davis Cup qualifiers against Croatia this weekend. Following that, Zverev aims to reach the world number one ranking, currently trailing Jannik Sinner by 1,080 points. If Sinner continues to pause due to injury, Zverev could potentially achieve the top ranking at the Masters tournaments in Shanghai and Paris-Bercy.
