Vincent Kompany: Michael Olise's Rise is His Own Doing, Not Mine
Vincent Kompany does not want to overstate his own contribution to Michael Olise's meteoric rise to world-class status.
"I believe a player with Michael Olise's talent will always make it; he would always be one of the best players," said the Bayern coach in an interview with RTL/Sky Sport.
Kompany praises his attacking star, who also impresses Zinedine Zidane in the French national team. "The way he always has an eye for something others might miss – even in training. That's why this young man has already become a special player in world football," Kompany stated.
The coaching staff's role at FC Bayern, Kompany explained, is to guide and motivate players like Olise (24), showing them "the next steps." "That's the role we play," Kompany said, "but making a player a world-class player, that's impossible; he has it within himself."
