FC Schalke 04 will continue to have successful coach Miron Muslic at the helm after their promotion to the Bundesliga.
Amidst the stadium celebrations following their decisive 1-0 victory against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the club announced Muslic’s contract extension through to 2028.
«Bundesliga, here we come, together. Let’s go Schalke!» Muslic shouted into the stadium microphone. The fans enthusiastically cheered for the coach.
Muslic had previously stated, «It meant so, so much to us. For us. But it meant even more to Schalke.»
Upon the final whistle, he expressed «absolute gratitude and awe for this moment,» telling RTL, «It’s something special. We are simply happy and proud that we can celebrate this with so many Schalke fans here in the stadium and all over Germany.»
Muslic joined Schalke at the start of the new season and led the team to a confident promotion. «Confidence is everything – this man has succeeded in giving Schalke an identity again,» said defender Timo Becker to Sky. «He has earned it; he should be celebrated.»
