«Referees Stole 18 Points from Us!» Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez Rages Against LaLiga

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has leveled serious accusations against referees as part of his outburst on Tuesday evening.

In his fiery speech on Tuesday night, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez not only criticized the media but also lashed out at LaLiga, labeling them «our enemies.» He further leveled grave accusations against the referees.

«I’ve only won seven LaLiga titles with Real Madrid!? I should have won 14. The other seven titles were stolen from me,» fumed an enraged Perez, after his club had just seen their championship hopes dashed on Sunday with a 0-2 Clasico defeat against FC Barcelona.

According to Perez, Real Madrid’s 14-point deficit to their arch-rivals from Catalonia, with three games remaining, is not due to their own team’s performance but rather to the officials. «The referees have stolen 18 points from us in LaLiga,» he grumbled.

«Worst Scandal in Football History!» Perez Again Addresses the Negreira Affair

In the course of his criticism of the referees, Perez also did not tire of expressing his outrage again over the Negreira affair, even calling it «the worst scandal in football history. I can’t believe it still hasn’t been clarified.»

The affair involves accusations that Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former vice-president of the Spanish refereeing committee, received over seven million euros in payments from FC Barcelona between 2001 and 2018. Spanish prosecutors allege that the Catalan club paid for favorable refereeing decisions. The club, however, maintains that the sum was solely for reports and advice.

«The same referees from the Negreira era are still in service. They are still officiating. It makes no sense,» Perez continued to grumble. «Barca paid for Negreira’s services for two decades, and these referees are still active in the third decade.»
