Ralf Rangnick Eyed for AC Milan Sporting Role, Plans to Bring in Saudi-Based German Coach

Ralf Rangnick is being considered for a sporting director position at AC Milan. However, it appears he will not be taking on the coaching role himself. Instead, he is reportedly looking to recruit a German coach currently successful in Saudi Arabia.

If AC Milan and Ralf Rangnick finalize an agreement for collaboration, the current Austrian national team coach is expected to assume responsibility for the sporting management of the struggling giant. This information comes from the Italian sports daily, Gazzetta dello Sport. As for the coaching position of the Rossoneri, Rangnick is said to favor a compatriot who is currently performing well in Saudi Arabia. Rangnick is reportedly advocating for Matthias Jaissle, the current coach of Al-Ahli, to succeed Max Allegri, who was dismissed on Monday after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Initially, it was anticipated that Rangnick would serve in a dual capacity as both manager and coach at Milan. However, this scenario now appears to be out of the question.

Matthias Jaissle, like Rangnick, hails from Swabia and was born in Nürtingen in April 1988. Although only 38 years old, he has been a coach on the sidelines for ten years.

Following four years as a youth coach in Salzburg and a two-year stint as assistant coach at Brøndby in Denmark, he took over Salzburg’s reserve team, Liefering, at the age of 31. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to head coach of the senior Salzburg team.

His boss at the time was Ralf Rangnick. Over the past three years, Jaissle has achieved success in Saudi Arabia, winning the Asian Champions League twice with Al-Ahli.

Before his move to Saudi Arabia, Jaissle secured two league championships with Salzburg.

However, if Milan genuinely wishes to sign Jaissle, a transfer fee would be required.
