Michael Olise has etched his name in Bundesliga history with his winning goal against VfL Wolfsburg.
The Frenchman spectacularly struck the ball with his left foot over the crossbar into the net in the 56th minute, securing a 1-0 victory for Bayern Munich against the relegation-threatened side on Saturday. This marked Olise’s 15th goal in his 31st Bundesliga appearance this season.
With this achievement, Olise becomes only the second player since the 2004/05 season to record at least 15 goals and 15 assists in a single Bundesliga campaign. This remarkable feat was previously accomplished only by Jadon Sancho, who registered 17 goals and 17 assists for Borussia Dortmund in the 2019/20 season.
While Olise reached the 15-goal mark on the 33rd matchday, he had achieved 15 assists considerably earlier. He currently boasts an impressive 21 assists in the Bundesliga. Across all competitions, his statistics are even more striking: 22 goals and 30 assists in 50 competitive matches.

Olise’s goals and assists, along with the performances of his dynamic attacking partners Harry Kane and Luis Diaz, are key reasons for Bayern Munich’s successful 2025/26 season. The Munich club secured the Bundesliga title many weeks ago and will also compete in the DFB-Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart. However, Bayern’s Champions League campaign ended this week in the semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain (5:6).
Olise transferred to Bavaria in the summer of 2024 from Crystal Palace for 53 million Euros and made an immediate impact. In his very first season, he was voted Player of the Season by the fans at Bayern Munich. His contract in Munich runs until 2029.
