Jamal Musiala schien beim FC Bayern gerade auf dem Weg zu seiner Topform zu sein, doch zwei enttäuschende Leistungen folgten. Serge Gnabrys Adduktorenabriss war ein großer Rückschlag für den FC Bayern, da der 30-Jährige in dieser Saison eine beeindruckende Renaissance erlebt hatte. Als Ersatz für den langzeitverletzten Jamal Musiala rückte Gnabry in die Startelf und spielte so gut, dass Musiala seinen Stammplatz auch nach seiner Genesung Anfang des Jahres nicht zurückeroberte. In der Bundesliga begann er als Rotationsspieler für den damals nur geschonten Gnabry zu punkten. In den Champions-League-Viertelfinals gegen Real Madrid lieferte er wichtige Impulse von der Bank. Nach Gnabrys Verletzung war er plötzlich wieder gesetzt. In sieben Spielen erzielte er sechs Scorerpunkte. Musiala wirkte zielstrebig und fit, gleichzeitig wurden seine Pässe genialer und seine Dribblings verwinkelter.

«Es ist Zufall, dass jetzt diese Verletzung von Serge passiert ist und Jamal ist nicht mehr so weit weg», sagte Trainer Vincent Kompany damals. «Er ist physisch ganz nah an seinem besten Niveau. Laufen, pressen, Zweikämpfe gewinnen – das kann er jetzt. Es gibt nur noch eine Frage: Wann kommt dieser Magic Musiala wieder? Dieser Jamal in seiner allerbesten Zeit. Als nächsten großen Gegner bescherte der Fußballgott dem FC Bayern im Halbfinale der Champions League PSG, ausgerechnet PSG! Jene Mannschaft also, gegen die sich Musiala vergangenen Sommer beim Klub-WM-Aus das Wadenbein gebrochen hatte. Ausgerechnet gegen PSG war er plötzlich wieder gesetzt und sehr wichtig. Der optimale Zeitpunkt für die Rückkehr des «Magic Musiala». Es sollte eine dieser Geschichten werden, die (Sie ahnen es sicherlich schon!) selbstverständlich NUR der Fußball schreibt.

Max Eberl: «Er hat vielleicht nicht so brilliert wie die anderen»

Erwartungsgemäß stand Musiala im Hinspiel gegen PSG in der Startelf. Und dann… nichts. Für das Spektakel sorgten auf Münchner Seite andere: Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Luis Diaz. Trotz vier Treffern verzeichnete Musiala keinen Torschuss, keine Torschussvorlage, nur eine unglücklich vertändelte Chance. Dazu lediglich 26 Pässe, die zweitwenigsten aller Startelfspieler. Ganz knapp vor Alphonso Davies, der aber der Vollständigkeit halber 34 Minuten kürzer auf dem Platz stand.

Die Partie lief völlig an Musiala vorbei. Zumindest bis zu einem gewissen Grad war das auch der Spielstatik geschuldet. Es ging hin und her, meist über die Flügel und ohne Zwischenhalt in der Zentrale. Tatsächlich vermied der Ball die Mittelfeldzentrale, als wären dort Nägel ausgelegt. Joshua Kimmich und Aleksandar Pavlovic lechzten auf der Doppelsechs ähnlich vergeblich nach Spielanteilen wie Musiala vor ihnen.

«Ich fand ihn gegen Paris nicht unauffällig», konterte Sportvorstand Max Eberl die Kritik an Musiala etwas zu wohlwollend, aber was soll er auch sagen. Böse Zungen könnten anmerken: Auffällig war Musiala immerhin in Minute 33, als er bei einer Ecke Joao Neves gewähren ließ und damit das zwischenzeitliche 1:2 verschuldete. «Er hat vielleicht nicht so brilliert wie die anderen, aber er hat unglaublich viel für die Mannschaft gearbeitet», ergänzte Eberl durchaus zurecht. 15 Zweikämpfe bestritt Musiala, die zweitmeisten nach Olise, zehn davon gewann er.

FC Bayern: Jamal Musiala blieb auch gegen Heidenheim blass

Vier Tage nach dem Spektakel von Paris, in einem (zumindest aus Münchner Sicht) halbwegs belanglosen Bundesligaspiel gegen den 1. FC Heidenheim, blieb Musiala als einer von nur vier Akteuren in der Startelf. Wie in Paris fehlte von «Magic Musiala» aber auch gegen den Tabellenletzten jede Spur. «Er war genauso wie die anderen nicht zu 100 Prozent im Spiel», befand Eberl nach dem 3:3. Ein ungefährlicher Schuss gelang ihm, zur Halbzeit nahm ihn Kompany aus dem Spiel.

«Er hat Minuten gesammelt, so sehe ich es positiv», sagte Eberl und versicherte: «Er wird uns am Mittwoch helfen.» Beim Rückspiel gegen PSG hat Musiala jedenfalls eine zweite Chance auf die besondere «Ausgerechnet»-Geschichte. Trotz Leon Goretzkas Empfehlungsschreiben gegen Heidenheim samt Doppelpack ist Musialas Startplatz nicht in Gefahr.
