Hamburger SV (HSV) may have valid reasons to be hopeful about Luka Vuskovic remaining with the club.
According to a report from The Independent, Vuskovic’s parent club, Tottenham Hotspur, is contemplating extending the 19-year-old Croatian’s contract and then loaning him out again.
The center-back’s contract with the London club is valid until June 30, 2030. However, the extension is expected to come with a significant salary increase, aimed at securing Vuskovic’s long-term commitment to Spurs and deterring any transfer ambitions.
Should he be loaned out again, HSV would again be in contention. In the past, both the Rothosen and Vuskovic himself have expressed interest in continuing their collaboration.
The 19-year-old, in particular, has repeatedly voiced his desire to play for HSV alongside his brother Mario, who missed the previous season due to a doping ban.
Vuskovic: An Undisputed Starter for HSV
Last season, Vuskovic was one of the standout surprises in the Bundesliga. He was an undisputed starter for Hamburg under coach Merlin Polzin, featuring in 30 competitive matches across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
Consequently, the center-back has attracted the attention of numerous top clubs. FC Bayern Munich is reportedly among the clubs considering a move for the 19-year-old.
Furthermore, FC Barcelona is also said to be interested in Vuskovic. Initial discussions between the club and the player are rumored to have already taken place.
