Germany’s World Cup Foe Ivory Coast Routs South Korea 4-0 in Friendly

Ivory Coast, set to face Germany in the upcoming FIFA World Cup, demonstrated formidable form by securing a dominant 4-0 victory over South Korea in a recent friendly match. This impressive performance, featuring four goals at the start of the World Cup year, mirrors the high-scoring display of the German national team, which won its own friendly against Switzerland 4-3.

The decisive match, held in Milton Keynes, England, saw the Ivorians deliver a strong performance just under three months before their World Cup encounter with the DFB-Eleven. The goals for the three-time African champions were scored by Evann Guessand (35th minute), Simon Adingra (45th+1 minute), Martial Godo (62nd minute), and Wilfried Singo (90th+4 minute), sealing a commanding win against a South Korean side featuring Bayern Munich’s Min-Jae Kim.

For Ivory Coast, Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré remained on the bench. On the South Korean side, Mönchengladbach’s Jens Castrop and Mainz’s Lee Jae-Sung were unused substitutes, while superstar Heung-min Son of Tottenham Hotspur was only introduced in a substitute role.
