Goleador Cup: 41 Cities, Ten Thousand Children Having Fun with Football
Football is at the heart of this nationwide event, but its ambition extends beyond mere play, embracing personal development, inclusion, and a strong connection to local communities. The primary goal isn't to discover future champions or foster unrealistic expectations, but simply to offer children the pure joy of engaging with their most beloved object: the football.
The Event
Launched in January, this extensive event spans 41 Italian cities and involves 52 sports centers. Most importantly, it engages ten thousand young participants, including boys aged 8 to 12 and girls up to 14 years old. Each participating sports center hosts a five-a-side football tournament, from which a winning team emerges. These triumphant teams will then gather for a grand final celebration, scheduled for the end of May at the Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, a venue that has been gaining significant recognition thanks to the recent successes of its local team. The event will be proudly hosted by TV presenter Barbara Pedrotti.
The Goleador Cup initiative reaches almost all regions of Italy, with particularly high participation in major cities like Milan (hosting 5 tournaments) and Rome (with 3 tournaments), as well as on the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. This extensive tournament culminates with the festive final event in Como, where local winners will have the thrilling opportunity to play on the revered Sinigaglia pitch, alongside other exciting surprises planned for the participants.
