Only coach Vincent Kompany will be absent. He received his third yellow card of the current season against Real Madrid and is consequently suspended for the first leg.
Kompany received the warning after Kylian Mbappe’s goal in the 42nd minute, following his complaints about a perceived foul by Antonio Rüdiger in the build-up to the goal.
Despite his suspension, the Belgian stated he was ‘happy’: ‘The boys deserved it. And then the first game has to take place without me on the sidelines. But I still find it tough with yellow cards in this new format with so many extra games.’
