FC Bayern München Eyes Prominent Challenger for Alphonso Davies: Nathaniel Brown

FC Bayern München is showing strong interest in signing left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Reports indicate that FCB is actively considering the acquisition of the 22-year-old player. It is understood that a preliminary meeting between the German record champions and the player’s representatives has already taken place.

The increasing focus on Brown is attributed to the recent high susceptibility to injuries of Alphonso Davies, Bayern’s usual first-choice left-back. Davies was sidelined from late March to December last year due to a cruciate ligament tear. Since his return, the 25-year-old Canadian has had to miss two more matches due to muscular injuries and is currently unavailable.

Bayern’s supposed interest in Brown is not new. It was previously reported in the autumn of 2025 that the Frankfurt player was being closely monitored by the club. At that time, it was stated that Eintracht would demand a substantial transfer fee of at least 60 million Euros for the German international. Brown’s contract with Frankfurt is valid until 2030.

Besides FC Bayern, Real Madrid is Also Reportedly Interested in Nathaniel Brown

Brown, who emerged from the youth academy of 1. FC Nürnberg and moved to Frankfurt in 2024, has established himself as a key player for the Hessen-based club and a strong contender for the German national team. He has already made three international appearances and is considered a promising candidate for the World Cup squad. National coach Julian Nagelsmann is expected to select Brown as the second-choice left-back for the tournament in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, behind David Raum of Leipzig.

Meanwhile, not only Bayern but also other top European clubs are reportedly keeping an eye on Brown. A few months ago, there were reports of concrete interest from Real Madrid, with FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and FC Liverpool also mentioned as potential suitors.

At Eintracht, which is currently searching for a new coach after the departure of the controversial Albert Riera, Brown is an indispensable player. In the recently concluded season, the left-footed player featured in 42 matches, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
