Chelsea Mocks Arsenal After Champions League Final Loss

Chelsea has playfully mocked their London rivals, Arsenal, after the latter’s Champions League final defeat against PSG (4:3 on penalties).

Shortly after the final whistle at Budapest’s Puskas Arena, Chelsea took to Instagram and X to promote stadium tours of Stamford Bridge. The Blues posted a carousel of images featuring various trophies, with the Champions League trophy as the main image.

They captioned the post: «Come and visit London’s Home of Trophies. Book your Stadium Tour at Stamford Bridge now via the link in our Story and Bio.» The post went viral, garnering over 400,000 likes on Instagram within an hour.

This was a clear jab at their North London rivals, implying that Arsenal will have to wait longer for their first Champions League title after their loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday evening.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has won Europe’s premier club competition twice: in 2012, they defeated Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout in Munich, and in 2021, Kai Havertz’s goal secured a narrow victory against Premier League rivals Manchester City in Porto.

Arsenal’s Champions League Final Woes

Havertz was also a key player in the 2026 final. In the sixth minute, he gave the Gunners the lead with a spectacular strike from a tight angle. The 1-0 lead held for a considerable time before PSG, through Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, converted a penalty to equalize, capitalizing on their superior play. The match remained level until a penalty shootout, where Arsenal defender Gabriel missed the decisive spot-kick.

This marked Arsenal’s second Champions League final defeat, the first being against FC Barcelona in 2006 (2-1).

As a consolation, Mikel Arteta’s team has secured the English league title this season. For the first time since the legendary «Invincibles» in 2004, Arsenal has won the Premier League title, making the season a definite success. They are set to celebrate this achievement with a victory parade through the English capital on Sunday.
