Borussia Dortmund’s interest in bringing Jadon Sancho back to the club appears to have significantly decreased.
«Borussia Dortmund is considering him, but currently, there is not much pointing towards another return,» writes the kicker. In recent weeks and months, there had been increased speculation about a BVB deal for the English winger.
Dortmund’s sporting director, Ole Book, also commented on Sancho recently: «Of course, we have him in mind,» he told Sky. «Jadon is a highly creative player and has already shown some excellent performances for Borussia Dortmund in the past – we are absolutely convinced of that,» he added.
However, according to the report, a deal for Sancho, who earns over ten million euros per year at his club Manchester United, is now questionable.
Manchester United loaned Sancho out twice
Sancho once had his major breakthrough at BVB and then moved to Manchester United in 2021 for a transfer fee of 85 million euros. However, things did not go according to plan for him at the Red Devils, and he could not establish himself at Old Trafford. United loaned him back to Dortmund for the second half of the 23/24 season. Sancho is currently on loan again – this time to Europa League finalists Aston Villa. His contract in Manchester expires at the end of the season, allowing him to move on a free transfer.
Jadon Sancho mostly a substitute at Aston Villa
While Sancho has made 38 appearances for Villa this season, scoring one goal and assisting three, he has mostly come off the bench, as coach Unai Emery has preferred Emiliano Buendia and John McGinn on the wings.
There is speculation at Borussia Dortmund about the departure of Karim Adeyemi, who could bring a significant amount of money into the BVB coffers with a transfer and free up a spot on the wing.
