Borussia Dortmund Agrees to Large Severance Package with Sebastian Kehl for Contract Termination

Borussia Dortmund has reportedly reached an agreement with former captain and long-time sporting director Sebastian Kehl to terminate his contract, which was set to run until June 30, 2027.

According to consistent reports from the Ruhr-Nachrichten and the Bild newspaper, the 46-year-old, who was dismissed on March 22, will receive a severance payment of 1.5 million euros.

This settlement would allow Kehl to pursue new opportunities. The former international player has most recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.

Kehl, who was replaced as sporting director by Ole Book just one day after his dismissal, is expected to be officially bid farewell during BVB’s final home game of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday (8:30 PM/Sky).
