Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal spoke ahead of the match against Inzaghi`s Inter. He shared his thoughts on the upcoming Champions League semi-final:
“There`s a strong desire to win it; we want to show what kind of team we are and aim to win everything. Inter? Everyone knows they are very strong defensively, and transitions are their main strength. But we are also good, especially in possession. We`ll need to do everything as a team to advance. I have the motivation and confidence needed for such matches; fear is left out. I believe a Champions League semi-final is a very different context from a league game.”
Regarding comparisons to Lionel Messi, Yamal commented: “I don`t compare myself to him, nor do I compare myself to anyone, let alone Messi. I`d rather avoid such comparisons. We just focus on improving day by day. Comparisons don`t make sense, especially with Messi. I admire him because he is the best player in history. But, again, without making comparisons. We grew up here at Barcelona, we feel the colors strongly, and we want the team to succeed. It`s not the same thing to come from outside or to have grown up in La Masia: a Clasico, for us, is not just any game.”
