Walter Sabatini on Giuntoli & Motta: ‘No fundamental errors, the problem was Motta’s difficulties’

Walter Sabatini, a former executive for various Serie A clubs, discussed Juventus` season while speaking on `7 Gold`. He offered his perspective on the performance of both football director Cristiano Giuntoli and the coaching situation.

Sabatini defended Giuntoli`s work, stating that the market operations conducted during the summer and January transfer windows were appropriate. “Giuntoli brought the players he was supposed to bring to Turin; there were no fundamental errors in the planning phase,” Sabatini commented.

According to Sabatini, the main issue lay with the coach, Thiago Motta. “The problem is the lack of technical and emotional engagement from coach Motta. Nobody anticipated his struggles this year. Last season, he had created a masterpiece, and this year I expected a different outcome, not this much difficulty and effort required from the team.”

He also touched upon the league standings, suggesting that achieving fourth place now seems challenging under Igor Tudor. Sabatini concluded by stating that the current league table accurately reflects the teams` performances and that Milan is not superior to Juventus.
