Vucinic: “Soulé is Doing Much Better with Ranieri”

Former Roma forward Mirko Vucinic spoke to Radio Manà Manà Sport Roma during a show hosted by Federico Nisii, Piero Torri, and Daniele Cecchetti. Here are his comments:

Regarding the Lecce-Roma match, a significant game for you: what is the current situation for both teams?

“Lecce is struggling, but at this point in the season, teams need to secure their survival, and certainly, the Giallorossi will do everything to stay up.”

About Ranieri.

“Ranieri has accustomed us to miracles; we hope he can perform another one.”

Regarding Krstovic.

“Krstovic is a very powerful player, devastating in the box. He shoots from all positions and has an eye for goal. For Lecce, he has scored half of the team`s goals. Corvino discovered him, and he has accustomed us to these kinds of signings.”

What were your expectations for Dovbyk?

“The Italian league is much more challenging. Roma is not an easy place; let`s not forget that Roma is used to great players, starting from Batistuta. I struggled in my first year.”

You used to excel against big teams.

“Yes, it was too easy against smaller teams, I didn`t concentrate enough (laughs, editor`s note).”

You were a leader; are you disappointed that your time at Roma didn`t end in the best way?

“Everything went wrong when I had a scene with my wife during a match at the stadium, and I wanted to leave. Claudio Ranieri convinced me to stay at the time.”

Do you see similarities between the comeback in 2009/2010 and this year`s?

“Back then, we were in a very bad state, and he got into our heads, making us all feel important.”

Do you have any regrets?

“I broke my knee, and part of the cartilage was damaged. I retired quite young, but it`s better to stop before becoming a shadow of yourself. I am very happy with how things turned out.”

What is Montenegro`s sporting secret?

“Everyone plays in the streets; in Italy, they only use iPads, TikTok, and Instagram.”

What`s your opinion on Soulé?

“It`s important that the club and the coach make you feel important. Since Ranieri arrived, he is doing much better.”
