Valentini on Douglas Luiz: ‘A player wouldn’t make such statements in a well-structured club’

`Valentini

Antonello Valentini, a former executive of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), recently shared his thoughts with TMW Radio regarding the social media comments made by Douglas Luiz about his situation at Juventus.

Addressing Douglas Luiz`s remarks, Valentini stated:

“In a well-structured club, a player would never make such claims. If the club isn`t fundamentally restructured, Juventus won`t be able to return to its highest levels.”

He also offered his perspective on goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who delivered an exceptional performance for PSG the previous evening and is frequently linked with a potential transfer to Juventus.

“I`m unsure if Italian teams genuinely pursued him, but Donnarumma is better off in Paris than in Italy, where things can sometimes get out of proportion. There`s excessive pressure here, and our national anxieties aren`t helpful. I believe that after his performance yesterday, Donnarumma has persuaded PSG to want to keep him. While I`d be pleased to see him return to Italy, I`m not sure which club could afford him. We tend to overlook the substantial costs involved in acquiring and paying such a player.”
