Despite a disappointing final result for the Azzurri, who now need an away win to qualify for the Nations League semi-finals, the Italy-Germany match garnered excellent television viewership.
Yesterday evening’s match, played at San Siro, which allowed the FIGC to record the highest revenue in the history of the national team, was watched by an average of 8,013,421 viewers, with a 37.2% share. Specifically, 8,213,000 people watched the first half with a 36.5% share, while the second half recorded 7,828,000 viewers with a 37.9% share.
This number of viewers places Italy-Germany as the third most-watched match, excluding Euro 2024 qualifiers, under Luciano Spalletti’s management, behind Ukraine-Italy and England-Italy, both valid for qualification for the latest continental tournament. Looking at the share alone, Italy-Germany ranks fourth, behind the two matches already mentioned, as well as Italy-Ukraine, another match valid for Euro 2024 qualification.
