Timo Werner Was Involved in All Goals! Timo Werner Confirms Strong Form in San Jose

Timo Werner has once again underlined his strong form in North America’s Major League Soccer (MLS), single-handedly leading the San Jose Earthquakes to another victory.

The former national team player was involved in all his team’s goals in the 3-2 (1-0) win against St. Louis City SC, scoring a brace in the second half to secure their ninth win in their tenth season game.

After Werner had assisted Preston Judd’s early goal to make it 1-0 (8th minute), St. Louis turned the game around at the start of the second half thanks to an assist and a goal from German professional Marcel Hartel.

However, Werner brought San Jose back into the game with a converted penalty (69th minute) and a powerful direct shot (83rd minute). This was the 30-year-old’s third consecutive game with at least one goal.

«He’s an experienced player. He’s played in World Cups. He’s won the Champions League and played for big clubs in England and Germany. It doesn’t surprise us that he’s adapted to Major League Soccer so quickly,» said coach Bruce Arena after the game about Werner: «More good things are to come.»
