Minister Tajani shared his thoughts with Corriere di Torino, expressing his support for Juventus. Tajani stated, “I hope for goals from Vlahovic and I`m rooting for Tudor, one of us. It`s a story of great love. My grandmother was from Piedmont and a Juventus fan. I grew up with her telling me about Juve, about her brothers going to the stadium. Juve was a piece of Piedmont that she always carried in her heart since she moved to Ciociaria, where she married my grandfather. Now in the family we are all Juventus fans: me, my son Filippo and my grandson Matteo. Juve has had great champions, just look at the jerseys and Ballon d`Or trophies at the J-Museum.”
He continued, “If I have to name one from the past, I`d say Michel Platini. A couple of years ago, on a mission to the United Arab Emirates, I gifted a Juventus jersey to the Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bin Zayed, a big Bianconeri fan. We talked about the team and he told me he was still hurt by a defeat in Naples! I replied, `Think about me, I was in the stands!`” Regarding the coaching change, Tajani commented, “Thiago Motta? I`m not in favor of mid-season changes, but that`s football. And now, Forza Tudor. He`s one of us.”
Tajani concluded by focusing on the team`s striker, “Vlahovic, I hope he can return to being the center-forward we know. To get into the Champions League, we`ll need his goals. I hope Juve returns to winning ways: for the standings and to avoid being teased by government colleagues, starting with the Genoa fan Zangrillo! Forza Juve until the end…”.
