Tacchinardi: ‘Tudor Makes You Run at 100 Mph, Juve Needs a Del Piero-like Figure’

Alessio Tacchinardi, speaking on the program TikiTacco, provided a comprehensive view on Juventus`s current challenging period, analyzing the team`s inconsistent performances, inherent squad limitations, and uncertainties surrounding the future. He highlighted the difficulty of playing away at Bologna, noting that even Inter had lost there. Tacchinardi pointed out the absence of crucial players like Yildiz and McKennie`s “moment of madness” leading to a penalty. However, he believed that with more clinical finishing in the final 30 meters, citing Cambiaso`s miss, the match could have been decided in the first half. Reflecting on the second half, which saw only one deflected shot, he attributed the lack of attacking prowess to deficiencies in the transfer market. Tacchinardi stressed, “If you don`t play with maximum intensity, you can win or lose against anyone.”

Commenting on Igor Tudor, Tacchinardi stated: “The squad lacks depth. Tudor pushes you to run at 100 miles an hour, similar to Gasperini, but this requires specific types of players. And we don`t have them. Nevertheless, under Igor, the team shows spirit; they fight and keep trying until the very end. With a different coach, they might not have secured wins in certain matches. Against Fiorentina, the game seemed lost, and against Bologna, they pressed until the final whistle. But the required ruthlessness in decisive moments is still missing. If the team fails to qualify for the Champions League, a complete 360-degree analysis will be necessary. Conte gets you running at 70, Tudor at 100, but you must make a clear choice.” He also noted Thiago Motta`s current strong performance after some initial difficulties and called for clarity within the club`s hierarchy: “It has to start with Giuntoli, but a serious, concrete meeting is essential. A clear direction is needed.”

Regarding the club`s structure, Tacchinardi suggested: “Beyond Giuntoli, the club needs a figure who can bridge the gap between the team and the management. Chiellini? Perhaps. But why not approach Del Piero? Call him! He embodies Juventus`s history; he can reignite the passion. Maybe he`ll say no, but you must at least ask. He honored that shirt and can still contribute significantly.”
