Sorensen on Juventus: ‘Conte Has Fire Within, Players Were Exhausted’ – Believes Juve Will Reach Champions League

Former Juventus defender Frederik Sorensen, currently playing for Feralpisalò, recently spoke to Fanpage about his past with the Bianconeri. He shared his experience: “It was a great satisfaction. [Fabio] Paratici noticed me when he was still at Sampdoria,” the 33-year-old defender revealed. “Then he moved to Turin, and the opportunity with Juve came up. I was supposed to spend the season with the Primavera squad, but after just a few months, I found myself in the first team. The biggest impact was being in the locker room with champions like Buffon and Del Piero and having to mark players like Totti and Eto`o. That was a shock.”

Regarding Antonio Conte? Sorensen noted that the coach`s intensity hasn`t changed. “He was already the same as he is today; I realize this from the statements of his current players. When I read what they say about him, I see again what he represented for us fifteen years ago. When people say he gets inside your head, it`s exactly like that. He has fire within him.” Sorensen vividly remembered the demanding training sessions under Conte: “I held up, but I saw teammates collapse from exhaustion. I remember what he said on the first day of the training camp: `You have to sweat for this jersey.` And that was exactly how it was.”

On Juventus` current difficulties, Sorensen commented: “Sometimes in football, seasons happen where you can`t perform to the level of your quality, and it`s hard to find motivation. However, I believe that in the end, Juve will achieve their objective this year, because the team is strong…”
