Juventus, through an official statement on their website, has announced all the new rules for the 2025-2026 season of the Women`s Serie A. Here are the details:
The 2024/2025 Women`s Serie A season is coming to an end, and planning for the next one is underway. The upcoming season promises to be full of changes for the top Italian women`s league, as well as for the Coppa Italia and more.
SERIE A FEMMINILE 2025/2026
In detail, the Assembly of the Professional Women`s Serie A Division has approved the new structure of Women`s Serie A for the 2025/2026 season. Following the league reforms, the number of teams participating in the top league will increase from 10 to 12, while Serie B will decrease from 16 to 14 teams. The league will be played in a single round-robin format with home and away matches, for a total of 22 match days.
COPPA ITALIA FEMMINILE 2025/2026
The format for the Coppa Italia has also been approved: the tournament will begin with a preliminary knockout round reserved for newly promoted teams to Serie B. Subsequently, in the first round, teams from Serie B and the bottom four ranked teams from Serie A – according to the ranking to be published later – will enter the competition. The remaining eight Serie A teams will participate from the second round. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played, as in the current season, with two-legged ties.
NEW ENTRY
Finally, the major new addition is the creation of a third competition that will be held in a `concentrated` format at the beginning of the new sports season, before the start of the league. All 12 Serie A teams will participate in the tournament, divided into three groups of four. The top teams from each group, along with the best second-placed team, will advance to the Final Four to determine the winning team.
