Serie A: AC Milan Wins 2-1 at Marassi, Closes Gap on Fiorentina. Updated Standings

In the rescheduled match of the 35th Serie A round, AC Milan defeated Genoa 2-1 in a comeback victory at the Marassi stadium. This crucial win allows the Rossoneri to reach 54 points in the standings, closing the gap to just two points behind Fiorentina in eighth place and five points behind Bologna in seventh.

The game came alive in the second half. Genoa`s coach, Vieira, made an immediately effective substitution: Vitinha, having just entered, found the opening goal in the 61st minute, beating Maignan with a well-placed volley from Martin`s cross, giving the home side the lead.

Milan`s response came courtesy of the changes made by coach Conceiçao, who brought on Gimenez and Joao Felix to alter the attacking setup. This strategic move yielded the desired results in a very short period. Between the 76th and 77th minute, the situation completely reversed: first, Rafael Leão equalized with a deflected shot from a Milan offensive action, then an unfortunate own goal by Frendrup attempting to defend further Milan pressure sealed the final score at 2-1 for the visitors.
