Selina Cerci’s Departure from TSG Hoffenheim Confirmed as She Battles for Top Scorer Title

Selina Cerci is set to leave Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim following the current season, as widely anticipated.

The club announced on Tuesday that the 25-year-old will not be extending her expiring contract. Her next destination remains undisclosed. However, there have been long-standing rumors of a move to England for the prolific striker, with FC Arsenal reportedly showing interest.

Cerci bids farewell after «two wonderful years» with the club, stating, «I’m taking many special moments with me and will always cherish this time.» With 16 goals so far this season, Cerci is currently tied with Pernille Harder (FC Bayern) and Larissa Mühlhaus (Werder Bremen) in the race for the Bundesliga’s Golden Boot, an award she also won last year.

VfL Wolfsburg had also made unsuccessful attempts to sign the native of Kiel. Cerci transferred to Hoffenheim in 2024 from 1. FC Köln and has scored 34 goals in 46 competitive appearances for TSG. The forward will be officially honored before the kickoff of the final home game on Sunday against RB Leipzig.
