A court in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, located in Gran Canaria, Spain, has formally accused Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio, aged 22, along with three former teammates from the club`s youth setup – Andres Garcia, Ferran Ruiz, and Juan Rodriguez. The accusation relates to the alleged filming and distribution of videos containing sexual content without the consent of the individuals involved. These videos reportedly featured two women, one of whom was a minor, aged 16 at the time.
In the judicial order that concludes the investigative phase and recommends the indictment of the four footballers, the investigating judge noted evidence pointing to multiple potential crimes. The suspected offenses include the unauthorized disclosure of secrets, violation of privacy, distributing and sending the videos to third parties without notifying or obtaining consent from the subjects and to their detriment. Additionally, the judge indicated evidence related to child grooming for pornographic purposes and possession of child pornography.
According to various local media reports, the individuals accused could face prison sentences of up to five years. Raul Asencio, originally from La Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a young central defender who progressed through Real Madrid`s youth academy. He made his debut with the first team during the 2024-2025 season and has secured a starting position, partly due to the serious injury sustained by teammate Eder Militao.
