Pruzzo on Kean: “A Striker Thrives by Playing”

Former Fiorentina striker, among others, Roberto Pruzzo, spoke on Radio FirenzeViola during `Palla al centro` to discuss current Fiorentina affairs and the potential absence of Kean: “A striker thrives by playing; I see no contraindications for a young man who is confident and always scores goals. Making him play for an hour and then taking him off? It depends on the type of match and the physical stress it entails. In certain moments, it`s better to catch your breath and come off five minutes earlier. However, I would never remove the backbone of the team.”

Would you play Zaniolo?
“With Mourinho at Roma, it worked with Abraham, who proved to be adaptable by playing in multiple roles. Is he no longer the old Zaniolo? I have always appreciated him greatly, but you cannot go against the logic of clubs or coaches. I believe they are now making careful evaluations, but the mistake was having him move around so many teams. It`s time for him to settle down, whether in Florence or elsewhere, I don`t know.”

Who would you see as the main striker if Kean doesn`t play?
“I believe Zaniolo can do it; he has improved in that sense and can support the other attackers.”
