Nicola Penta recently commented on John Elkann’s latest statements, issued in a letter to Exor shareholders. Penta asserted that «Elkann consistently conveys messages when he speaks, particularly through his deliberate omissions of certain individuals.»
He suggested that a discernible rift has emerged between coach Luciano Spalletti and sporting director Damien Comolli, a tension made evident during Saturday’s match. Penta interpreted the choice to field Milik, who had been inactive for 600 days, and Vlahovic, sidelined for almost four months, over readily available players like David and Openda, as a clear signal from the coach to the director responsible for bringing those players to Turin.
Furthermore, Penta posited that for a coach to make such a strong statement, he must perceive solid backing from the ownership. He concluded that while the family, deeply rooted in Juventus fandom, is undoubtedly unhappy with the season’s progress, they also aim to satisfy Spalletti, a proven winner eager to maintain his success.
