Former Parma and Fiorentina coach, Giuseppe Iachini, shared his analysis of Parma`s current situation in an interview with Parmalive.com.
On Parma`s Young Players
“I am fond of guys like Bernabé, Sohm, Delprato, Balogh. They played a solid game, like a true team. Parma held their own against a strong and in-form Fiorentina. It`s great to see these young players, whom I gave opportunities to, continuing to grow. Delprato had to be signed permanently immediately: today he is a leader. Man, whom I made captain, is also a talent who can always change the game.”
On Bernabé and Bonny
“Bernabé was seen as a winger, but I immediately saw him as a regista: personality, vision, quality. Bonny was 18 years old but already showed hunger and talent: we would stay after training to work on him. He has great potential and is growing well.”
On the Bonny-Pellegrino Duel
“Healthy competition helps. Djuric brings experience, Pellegrino talent. But now results matter. Chivu, like Pecchia before him, must balance development and staying in the league.”
On Chivu
“He is doing well. In certain phases of the season, results are more important than beautiful play, and he is finding a balance. Winning or losing changes everything in the standings: it is a tough league, every team is fighting for something.”
On Parma`s Schedule
“Juventus, Lazio, Napoli: tough teams, but even those fighting relegation will put you in difficulty. Now it`s important to be perfect: every mistake weighs, even mentally. Maximum attention is needed.”
