Juventus journalist and supporter Francesco Oppini recently shared his views on the club during an appearance on TMW Radio`s program Maracanà.
Addressing comments made by a Mr. Ardoino, Oppini stated: “Regarding Ardoino`s words? Juventus is a Joint-Stock Company (Spa), there are many shareholders, and I frankly have no idea who this gentleman is. He isn`t speaking as a major shareholder but as someone who has invested money like many others. Who is he addressing?”
Turning his attention to the team`s current situation, he was blunt: “This Juve wouldn`t deserve the Champions League. Looking at Lazio, Bologna, Roma, even Milan… considering what was spent on arrivals and sacrificed on departures, this represents a total failure for Giuntoli.”
Oppini also criticized the club`s coaching decisions: “This team missed out on a coach like Conte who would have come readily [literally `walked there`]. When you sack someone like Allegri, you need to bring in someone at least at his level, not take a gamble on a coach who had certain management problems at La Spezia and Bologna.”
Looking ahead, he added: “We will see a response in the next two games. Tudor, with the double substitution error in Rome, has jeopardized his chances of staying.”
Finally, discussing potential future leadership roles, Oppini commented: “Platini as president? He would carry significant political weight, but he has reservations. There`s talk of Chiellini being closer to pitch-related matters, alongside another sporting director. Giuntoli has few chances of remaining, I believe only 5%.”
